Draftsman, Custom Event Fabrication
About Redmax Events
We build the stuff on display at major sporting events, trade shows, festivals, and brand experiences, the things people point at, take pictures with, talk about, and remember. Our work brings events to life through ideation, fabrication, craftsmanship, and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes finding ways to make it happen. The work can move fast, the details matter, and there’s usually one shot to get it right because the event date doesn’t care how your week is going. The people who stick around love the team, the energy, the pace, and all the opportunity to work on creative projects with a young and quickly growing company.
How You'll Get To Contribute
Every build is different, timelines are tight, and demand is growing. We need more drafting capacity to turn unusual event concepts, shop direction, and rough ideas into 3D models, shop drawings, and machine files the in-house team can build from. You’ll collaborate closely with a team of carpenters and other draftsmen on one-off builds, helping to keep projects moving from the initial drawing to the final unique finished work people stop to admire.
What You’ll Get To Do
- Create drawings for one-off builds like like photo moments, branded displays, scenic pieces, trade show features, and custom activations for major sporting events, trade shows, festivals, and brand experiences
- Turn creative event ideas into buildable pieces by owning the 3D models, shop drawings, and machine files that guide the work
- Give the shop what it needs to keep building by staying ahead of details, files, and timelines on fast-turnaround event work
- Work in a highly communicative, collaborative shop environment with other draftsmen and carpenters
- Learn and use a wider mix of software than you would in a standard drafting role, because every project is different
Who You Are
- You can 3D model with Autodesk Fusion or similar 3D modeling software
- You’ve produced shop drawings that became finished builds
- You like figuring out unusual builds, especially when the idea is still loose or the answer isn't obvious yet
- You can turn a moving target into drawings and files the shop can build from
- You notice what else needs to be clear before the shop gets stuck
- You like working close to the people building from your drawings
Even Better, But Not Required
- You've programmed machine files
- You have 3D printing ability
- You have ENCY programming experience
(Typical?) Schedule: This is a full-time, salaried, in-person role in Ronkonkoma with a 9-5 baseline. We’ll be honest, event work doesn't always fit neatly inside that. When timelines are tight or a build needs to keep moving, the hours can flex.
